Please forgive the extremely large gap in posts I’ve had. My summer schedule was packed full of money earning opportunities, and then on Sept 1st I moved temporarily to New York!
As you may or may not know, I’m here doing an internship for 3 months with RHLS – I started on Friday!!
So far, New York hasn’t been that overwhelming. I am just amazed at everything. People are amazing here. I smile a lot. People want to talk to me, tell me things, ask me things, give me advice. I can overhear most people’s conversations so it’s a little distracting and loud, but also entertaining. I stop and stare, and listen. I think my mouth is gaping open half the time.
I think I could get used to this place.

Second surprising photo sesh was another one from NEU in the Apple Daily and this time they put my leggings on a male model, and in the promo vid. Aw! More boys in my clothes. I like the way this is going! (You guys rock for including my leggings! xxxx)

Hey rad readers of my blog,
I haven’t been updating as much as usual for a number of reasons. I love telling you guys about fashion related stuff, and shit that goes on in my life in Taiwan but I gotta get my priorities straight. I design clothes. I haven’t been making much over the past couple of months, and choose instead to spend hours (yes, hours and hours and hours) updating this site. It’s kinda getting in the way of what I really really wanna do.
I wanna get back into making stuff. Sewing. Pattern drafting. Tweaking. I feel pressure of, oh shit! I haven’t updated my blog in 4 days!!! I better spend the next 4 hours uploading pictures and linking stuff — instead of sitting at my sewing machine or drawing my next design. That’s gotta stop.
SOOOOOOOO… what I’m trying to say is that I’m gonna be updating a whole lot less. I’ve also been working on a new RS site that has an online store, but um HELLO, I gotta make stuff to put in the store before I tell you about it.
Back to the pattern making table!
Here’s what I did recently while not updating my blog:
-Learned how to do Canadian/Lattice Smocking (wow, it looks cool)
-sat in awe of Cai Guo-Qiang’s exhibit at the Fine Arts Museum
-Made a dress
-Did 2 days of intense, carpal tunnel inducing research on a trend forecasting website
-Filled 10 pages in my sketchbook
Now time to make some more clothes, cuz a dress in a week just ain’t gonna cut it.

Last night, I had the pleasure of discovering Doug Stanhope. It was so funny Justin was slapping his knee. (That just doesn’t happen often enough!)
He is the first Doug that comes up in the suggestions on YouTube. He’s been going for 17 years, has at least 8 albums…. He’s got an interesting, honest point of view that is funny as fuck. This is the kinda guy that comes up to you at a party and starts going off — you wanna argue with him, but you know he’d just put you in your place and pretty soon he’s got the whole place roaring and everyone’s feeding him Jager shots cheering him on.
I’d be his friend.

I got this from Lesley for my birthday. It’s amazing. it taught me how to actually do/contour my make-up, instead of just smearing it on with my finger like I did before. (Ssssh, I’m learning!)
Buy it. It’s worth the money, but the best is that the pink is the perfect shade of my skin tone, and it blends so well with the darker contour shade.
